Overview
Neoss’ mission is to advance the science of dental implant treatment for all patients. High calibre research is the most appropriate way to achieve this. Neoss combines resources from academia, high technology and advanced manufacturing methods to develop clinical solutions for the benefit of all.
Research in Progress
Surface technology – Neoss is pioneering the development of advanced surface processes to achieve the optimal tissue biocompatibility for implanted medical devices together with the fastest and maximum bone to implant contact.
Advanced Materials - Neoss is utilising state of the art technology to develop manufacturing processes and materials that have the very best physical and mechanical properties in clinical function.
Biomechanics - The inter relationship between materials and design of all parts of an implanted medical device are critical and yet in some areas remain poorly understood. Neoss is applying basis principles of biomechanics to all aspects of implant and prosthesis design to develop the optimal inter relationship between the body and an implant.
Clinical Studies - Clinical studies are fundamental to understanding the in vivo and long term behaviour of implanted medical devices. Neoss is undertaking a range of studies to look at optimising the early stage performance of implanted medical devices and maximising long term treatment solutions.
Scientific Board
Neoss has a key research focus in five distinct areas; bone biology, biomechanics, craniofacial implantology and augmentation, soft tissues and surfaces. To this end we work with a number of internationally respected clinicians and academics to help us develop and implement strategy and technology. Our key scientific advisors help us to develop this strategy in their broadly based areas of expertise.
Medtronic is a strategic minority investor in Neoss and is an ongoing source of research support.
Collaboration
Neoss actively seeks scientific and clinical relationships with academics, specialists and clinicians around the world to develop the most effective and successful long term treatment solutions for patients. These relationships extend to the education of professional colleagues through courses, seminars and conferences.
